Nintendo Switch Sports Passes Sales Milestone

Gematsu claims that this sales chart includes physical game sales. This is relevant for Nintendo Switch Sports, as the physical version included a leg strap accessory. This accessory was originally used for the 2019 Switch title Ring Fit Adventure, but it can also be used with Soccer in Nintendo Switch Sports. Ring Fit Adventure was also a popular release. It was ranked second in the Top 100 Switch Games of 2020 in Japan.

Many felt that Nintendo Switch Sports didn’t live up to the legacy left by Wii Sports. It could be attributed to the game’s release later in the Switch’s life or to players having to wait several months to have Golf added through an update. It doesn’t matter how Nintendo Switch Sports was received. However, it is encouraging that Nintendo sees the value of this series and will continue supporting it.
