Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Tera Form Leaks Could Favor Charizard Once Again

Rumors have surfaced about the inclusion of Tera Forms in Pokemon Scarlet DLC and Violet DLC. A familiar face will likely receive it.

The next year’s Pokemon scarlet and violet content have been revealed. Integration with Pokemon Go and Pokemon Home is now underway. New legendary Paradox Pokemon have also been added to Tera Raid Battles. Fans are happy to see regular updates for Pokemon scarlet and violet as they work to improve the game. Pokemon trainers will be able to look forward to two new DLC expansions called “The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero”, which will release in the fall of 2023. The Indigo Disk will come in the winter of 2023. These will be great additions, especially if you consider rumors and leaks.

Although the DLC’s trailer was well-produced, it only revealed a handful of new characters and Pokemon. No one knows what these DLC episodes might contain beyond a few old Pokemon appearing in ScarletViolet‘s, and the promise to a couple of areas. A trusted leaker has revealed a possible new mechanic that either one or both of these expansion parts could iterate on. Although leaks are best taken with caution, it appears that the popular Generation 1 starter Charizard could get another iteration if Tera Forms become available.

Pokemon’s History of Charizards Getting From Gimmicks

Pokemon first used form-changing battle tactics in Pokemon and . Mega Evolution was a huge success, providing fully-evolved Pokemon with temporary evolutionary limits that were limited by Mega Stones that corresponded only to certain species. The only two evolutions that were available to Pokemon in Generation 6 were Charizard, Mewtwo, and Mewtwo. This special attention was not over for Generation 1.

Z-Moves were given priority in Pokémon Sun, and Moon despite the potential of Mega Evolution. These gimmicks were abandoned in Pokemon Sword, and Shield to make way for Dynamaxing. This combined Z-Moves and Mega Evolution while imposing a three-turn limit. Generation 8 introduced a limited number of Gigantamax Pokemon. These were similar to Dynamax, but the monsters assumed new forms reminiscent of Mega Evolutions. Charizard was again included in this group. This is even more remarkable because it was Champion Leon’s ace Pokemon.

Tera Forms would fit Charizard’s Special Care

This cycle could be repeated if the rumor about special Tera Forms being added to Pokemon Scarlet, and violet is true. Terastallization is a mechanic that every Pokemon can use. However, it works in different ways depending upon the Tera Type of each Pokemon. Tera Forms on the other hand have the potential for Tera Forms to behave like Mega Evolutions and Gigantamax forms, but with different rules. Although certain Pokemon lines may be able to receive needed buffs, it is more likely that a select group of Pokemon will once again hog this mechanic.

This is possible because Charizard will be a part of the new anime. According to promotional materials, Professor Friede will be riding a Charizard mount. The Fire/Flying-type Pokemon was already featured in a prominent Tera Raid battle, so scarlet and violet may see another Charizard as a raid boss. It can be tiring to see the same Pokemon in the same titles, as popular as they are. If Tera Forms are real, there will likely be more Pokemon that use them than Charizard.

Pokemon Scarlet and Vivid are now available on Nintendo Switch.
