The Secret Behind Sanji’s Curly Eyebrows in One Piece
Eiichiro Oda puts to bed fan speculations about Sanji’s shifting eyes by providing a definitive answer to one of the manga’s most recent mysteries.
Fans are now aware of the reason Sanji’s curly eyebrows have been moving in recent One Piece chapters.
A report by Anime Dork revealed that One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda has spoken up about the brow changes made by the Straw Hat cook. This indicates that the character’s character arc is intentional. The right eyebrow of Sanji was spiraling toward the outside throughout the entire series, in chapter 1031, this flipped to an inner end spiral, matching the brow shape of his Germa 66 siblings. By chapter 1044, Sanji’s brow returned to its traditional position, much to the surprise of some readers but Oda has since cleared it up by saying that the spiral is a reflection of Sanji’s greater transformation during his battle with Queen, leading to the awakening of his supernatural abilities.

Viewers learn the story of Sanji was born into the Vinsmoke Judge family. His father performed experiments on his children to transform them into super soldiers. Although both Sanji and One Piece fans believed the cook did not manifest his transplanted powers or the emotional numbness that comes with them, in his battle with Beast Pirate lead performer Queen, Sanji unlocked those abilities in the heat of the battle as previously depicted in the animated. Sanji’s personality changed as well changing, becoming more vicious and colder than his siblings. This was evident in his battle with S-Shark during the ongoing Egghead Island anime arc.
Sanji could be able to provide more
Sanji’s eyebrows changed in line with his personality while he was fighting the Jimbe Seraphim. This is an omen of Oda’s explanation of the design changes. Similar to Luffy’s appearance shifts in his Gear power-ups, Sanji’s eyebrow seems to be an indication to readers that the Straw Hat cook is utilizing his Germa 66 abilities. Even with this major change in Sanji’s mental state, Oda has encouraged readers to stay attentive to Sanji’s story, suggesting there’s more to learn about the character even before the end of the series.
