Michelle Pfeiffer’s Catwoman Lives Again: A Remarkable Batman Returns Cosplay That Nails Every Detail

Reddit user SaintElena captured the look and feel of Michelle Pfeiffer’s Catwoman by creating a stunning Batman Returns cosplay.

A stunning cosplay of Michelle Pfeiffer’s Catwoman appears exactly similar to the one in the 1992 film Batman Returns.

A cosplayer who goes by the name SaintElena shared their Catwoman image on the r/cosplay subreddit, performing the antiheroine’s iconic pose in a smokey room with a disco ball. SaintElena created her own Catwoman’s gloves, thimble, costume, and whip while the helmet and corset were “made to the order” and the shoes were “bought in a regular store.” They also compared the experience of wearing her tight-fitting outfit to what Pfeiffer went through while filming Batman Returns: “If I’m longer than two hours wearing this costume moving, I could be prone to heat stroke. If I don’t move frequently, I may wear the suit down for up to 4 hours.

Pfeiffer was the fourth actor to play the live-action Catwoman. He performed the role following Julie Newmar, Lee Meriwether, and Eartha Kitt, in the continuity of Adam West Batman. The film begins as the industrialist’s (Christopher Walken) timid secretary, Returns’ Selina Kyle is transformed into a costumed vigilante after surviving an attempted murder by Shreck, partnering with both Penguin (Danny DeVito) and Batman (Michael Keaton) in pursuit of vengeance. Although Catwoman’s semi-supernatural storyline diverged from comic lore and mythology, she is revered as a feminist icon for recovering her agency as well as her sexuality from male villains in the film. The same is true for Burton’s 1992 film. even though their 1992 film of Burton was controversial, Burton’s film was praised more overall. Many consider it to be one of the most popular comic book films.

Batman Returns has seen Catwoman as played by Halle Berry, Anne Hathaway, and Zoe Kravitz. Camren Bicondova was also the younger Selina on the Fox series Gotham and became an integral part of the show’s five-season run. Keaton will play Batman for the first time since Batman returned in Flash. She is Barry Allen’s multiversal partner, along with Sasha Calle and Supergirl. If asked if she would ever be interested in a reunion with Keaton as her DC character, Pfeiffer responded, “It would depend on the context but, yeah, I’d consider it.”

It also revealed her connection with Kang, the Conqueror who has been an ongoing antagonist of Phases Five and Six. However, Quantumania is not just debuted to mixed reception but now holds the record for the MCU’s biggest box-office loss to date.
