Captain Teva of The Mandalorian Nails the Ultimate Star Trek Crossover Cosplay

The Mandalorian actor and star of Kim’s Convenience Paul Sun-hyung Lee gives fans a glimpse of how a possible role in Starfleet might appear to.

The Mandalorian actor and Kim’s Convenience star Paul Sun Hyung Lee show off their perfect Star Trek cosplay on the internet.

Lee responded to a question from a Twitter user about his possible Star Trek appointment with a picture of himself wearing a blue Starfleet outfit, captioned “Anything #Starfleet.”

Before his emergence as the character Kim Sang-il on Kim’s Convenience he portrayed its original production as a stage show and through all five seasons, Lee was most well-known for his part as Randy Ko on the improvised soap series Train 48. Lee was in The Mandalorian as Captain Carson Teva. He is a former Rebel Alliance pilot who joined the New Republic Starfighter Corps. Lee made his Star Wars debut in The Mandalorian Season 2’s second episode, “The Passenger,” and has returned for multiple appearances, including in the fifth episode of The Book of Boba Fett, “Return of the Mandalorian.” Lee was also given the role of Iroh in the live-action version of Netflix’s adaptation of Avatar The Last Airbender.

The Mandalorian closes out another season.

The Mandalorian Season 3 finale “The Return” aired on April 19 and generated a ruckus among the fans. To the delight of the audience, The third season widened the role of fan-favorite character Grogu on the show. Showrunner Dave Filoni did warn fans after the conclusion that there was no reason to believe that there would be any real exploration of Grogu’s family or species, however. Filoni responded that if he had any knowledge of the information it would be a shame to reveal it. It would be clear that I knew and wouldn’t tell, and that would be cruel. Therefore, I’m not going to reveal it.

The Mandalorian Season 3 featured several controversial celebrity cameos. Particularly, Hollywood legend Jack Black as well as acclaimed musician Lizzo. They appeared in the episode sixth, “Guns for Hire,” in which they played an eccentric royal couple. Lizzo shared on Twitter that she’d just learned that she was royalty in Star Wars. This is Disney and is what makes her the definition of a Disney Princess. Lizzo opened up about her connection with her father who died in Star Wars. She wrote, “When [ the Mandalorian creator] Jon Favreau contacted me and offered the part of The Dutchess, I cried throughout the day, hoping he was still here cus they would be very pleased.”

Disney+ is currently streaming The MandalorianSeasons 1 through 3.
